After a 10 month consultation process SMC Jenkins & Marr have secured planning permission for the replacement campus buildings at Langside College on the south side of Glasgow.

The 14,000sqm scheme comprises a 4 storey teaching block with attached sports hall and a 2 storey Music and Drama building including a childrens nursery.

The layout is arranged to maintain public access to Mount Florida railway station via new courtyards between the buildings and to allow phased decant from the existing buildings which will be demolished between construction phases.

A D&B contract is about to be signed by Balfour Beatty Construction Ltd. for a site start at the end of January 2008.
